About Sutomore

One of the most popular cities on the Montenegrin coast, especially in the summer months, is certainly Sutomore. Among tourists, it is recognized as a city of beautiful sandy beaches, bars and cafes where a good time is guaranteed. Along the entire length of the coast there is a popular promenade where, in addition to cafes, tourists can find stalls with souvenirs, wardrobe, jewelry. Also, part of the content on the promenade is intended for children, during the summer months there is always an amusement park, a very visited place, as well as playrooms for children.
We can freely say that this coastal town is equally interesting for young people who come for a good time, as well as for family people with children who are mostly attracted by beaches with fine sand and rich content for children.
For those tourists who like to get acquainted with the history of the city and visit the sights, Sutomore has something to offer.
Be sure to visit the Haj-Nehaj Fortress, which is located at an altitude of 230 m above sea level. It was built by the Venetians in the 15th-16th century, then the Ratac monastery, which was built in the 11th century, and then reconstructed in the 14th century. It was destroyed by Turkish invaders. Today, only the remains of the monastery can be seen. One of the sights of Sutomore is the Church of St. Demetrius, which is a combination of two religions: Orthodox and Catholic. The church was badly damaged in the 1979 earthquake, and was reconstructed in 2005.
